MBS Parishioner Steve Verwiel

Members of our parish who attended the National Eucharistic Congress in Indianapolis this summer sat down to share their experiences of Jesus in the Eucharist at that event. This week, check out the story of parishioner Steve Verwiel.

"What profoundly affected me at the National Eucharistic Congress was all those Catholic faithful gathered in such joy and devotion for adoration.  The stadium shook with our prayers and our singing.  The feeling of the Holy Spirit was palpable, and I felt adrift in God's grace.  I realize now that we cannot have a revival without repentance. As Fr. Mike Schmitz said, "The remedy for indifference is love and the road to love is repentance."  I'm on this road for the rest of my days."  Steve Verwiel
