Giving of your time IS parish stewardship! One hour of service to your parish bi-monthly could significantly increase parish family fellowship opportunities, help others grow closer to Christ, and support individuals in need within our parish community.
To talk to someone about how you can serve - in one of the areas of current need or somewhere else that better fits your gifts - contact the Debra Lawent at (920) 231-9782 or [email protected] or fill out the Volunteer Interest Form.
Current Opportunities Include:
Spanish Mass Greeters (open to youth 7-17)
Greeters are the face of the church and assist people as they enter for parish worship, meeting individuals that enter our worship spaces with joy and love. One-on-one training and informational resources will be provided to anyone interested in assisting as a greeter. You can find purpose and fulfillment through this ministry by helping others feel like a part of the family of God. Knowing how to speak Spanish is not a requirement.
Outreach Ministers
These individuals will work with various non-profit and community organizations to support the neediest in our community and share their love of Jesus and His abundant mercy with those in need.
Mass Readers on Saturdays & Sundays (open to any age)
Readers at Mass have the opportunity to proclaim the Word of God to the parish community. If your heart yearns to spread the love, mercy, and hope of Jesus Christ to all who are willing to listen, call our parish office today. One-on-one training will be provided for this ministry. Youth will be paired with an adult mentor.
Prison Ministers (adults only)
An adult sacramental preparation ministry was launched for inmates in 2022 at the Oshkosh Correctional facility. This is led by lay leaders in the parish (through discernment). We must expand what is being offered at the prison and allow for succession planning for ministers when they decide to leave the ministry. You will work with men from all walks of life who are seeking God while incarcerated. Sometimes they wish to enter the Catholic Church. They are looking for support and to be seen and heard by the Church. This ministry is challenging and rewarding. Ongoing accompaniment and formation will be provided. Contact the parish office and speak with Evan Brankin or Deacon Rick to learn more.
Mass Ushers (open to any age)
Ushers assist all individuals at Mass with courteous direction, allowing each person they encounter to feel welcome and “at home” within our worship spaces. Ushers are leaders in liturgical ministry and allow other ministers the chance to focus on their individual tasks by creating a safe, secure, and organized worship environment. Hands-on training and shadowing are provided for this ministry. Youth will be paired with an adult mentor.
Funeral Ministers
These individuals will help in a variety of ways to support families having a funeral Mass and/or luncheon at our parish. Members of this ministry work in teams and will be trained for their role. If you desire to share your gifts of hospitality and mercy with those suffering the loss of a loved one, this is the ministry for you!
Altar servers (open to youth who have received First Holy Communion)
Altar Servers are given a unique and up-close experience of the Mass, and they assist the Priest and Deacon during the liturgy within the sanctuary space. Anyone interested in this area of ministry will be provided with training
