Treasurer Trustee Election

A parish trustee is an active, responsible parish member who is called to serve the parish as advisor, overseer, and counselor.  In the civil corporate entity of the parish, a trustee is a member of the corporate board and serves as a trustworthy advisor to the pastor/parish director, who is also concerned for the well-being and on-going development of a vibrant faith community. Trustees are informed, involved and concerned about the parish and its members.

The treasurer trustee holds an important role in the parish community as a member of the finance council.   The treasurer trustee’s particular area of responsibility is that of assisting the pastor/parish director in parish financial activities, including the care and custody of funds, assets, supervision of banking, credit and insurance.
As pastor, Father Jerry has nominated the following two candidates for the position of Treasurer Trustee of our parish.

Dave Van Spankeren

I am interested in continuing as the Parish Treasurer Trustee. My wife, Mary and I have been parish members since 1990.

Over the years, I have served the parish community as a member of the parish council and finance council. I continue to lector, usher and serve as a Eucharistic Minister at the 8:30 Mass.

My past education and experience in accounting while serving school districts and nonprofit helps me understand the financial and building operation side of the Most Blessed Sacrament Parish.

I enjoy traveling, golf, bowling and spending time with family.

Paul Glander

I am excited to have been asked to run for treasurer trustee of this parish!

I have been a member at MBS for 12 years now. I have been serving on parish finance council for the last 2. I am also a Eucharistic minister for the home bound. 

I am a fairly handy person. I enjoy woodworking and home renovation. Hunting, fishing, and hiking. I am married with 6 children (#6 is due in May!) 

Having a large family has really taught me how to stretch a dollar and to make sure every dollar is accomplishing our goals. I believe this mindset is needed when dealing with parish finance.

How to Vote: 

Ballots will be placed in the pews at Masses the weekend of November 23 & 24 and can be filled out and dropped in the baskets.

If you are not able to attend Mass in person at this time, please contact the parish office before November 23, 2024.
