Greetings from the Titan Catholics at the Newman Center!
For those of you who do not know me my name is Father Zach Weber, and on July 20 I started as the chaplain of the Newman Center at UW-Oshkosh.
With great hope we are heading into the fall semester and I wanted to personally invite you to a Eucharistic procession around the campus of UW-Oshkosh on Thursday September 3rd at 6:30pm.
The address is: 800 Elmwood Ave Oshkosh WI 54901 - the parking lot at that time should be open.
We will highly recommend wearing masks and keeping social distancing as we process with our Eucharistic Lord around campus. (Anyone who chooses NOT to wear a mask since we will be outside will be encouraged to move to the back of the procession line.)
The FOCUS Missionaries and commissioned disciples will be returning from their leadership retreat at Camp Tek and will be excited to end with a blessing of the campus.
The procession around the campus will approximately take about 1-1.5 hours so we encourage people to bring water, good walking shoes, a rosary, and their praying and singing voices. A map will be provided if anyone needs one. We are currently working with the police and campus staff to ensure crossing the street will be as safe as possible.
Our hope at the Newman Center is to build a bridge with the parishioners and parishes in Oshkosh. We are aware of the problem of 80% of confirmed Catholics no longer practicing any faith by the age of 23. We hope this procession is a healthy first step in that direction.
Please pray for good weather! Come Holy Spirit!
To Jesus Through Mary,
Fr. Zach
