From the Pastor's Desk
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
As we prepare to enter the sacred season of Lent, my staff and I are eager to offer you a variety of opportunities to encounter Jesus, especially in the Eucharist. Building on the graces of Advent, we will continue our traditional Lenten offerings while also introducing new experiences to help you make more room for Him in your heart.
Lent calls us to repentance and the disciplines of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. These practices are not merely obligations but opportunities for a deeper encounter with Christ.
Find information about our parish opportunities for repentance, prayer, fasting, and almsgiving below.Together, let us enter more deeply into the heart of Jesus, so that in encountering Him, we may discover the love that is eternal. As St. Teresa of Calcutta said, “Let us make our heart bigger, until it is capable of containing the gift of God Himself.”

Take just one step toward learning more about how to hear Jesus. Join us for just one of our guided prayer sessions (Tuesdays at 5:15pm, St. Mary or Saturdays at 8:00am, St. Peter). No experience necessary! Come hear Jesus.

Prayer
Spend 60 more minutes with Jesus each week
Try a weekly holy hour of adoration for Lent. If you already pray a weekly holy hour, consider adding a second one for Lent.
Adoration Opportunities:Before all Sunday and Ash Wednesday Masses
Tuesdays at 5:15PM at St. Mary
Saturdays at 8AM at St. Peter
"[Jesus] would withdraw to deserted places to pray." Luke 5:16

Fasting
Fast like Jesus did in the desert
Jesus did not have bad habits or sins to conquer in His life. Jesus fasted out of Love.
"Do something beautiful for God" (St. Teresa of Calcutta)
Abstain from meat on Ash Wednesday and Fridays
Eat only one full meal and no more than two snacks on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday.
"He fasted for forty days and forty nights, and afterwards he was hungry." Matthew 4:2

Almsgiving
Meet Jesus in the poor of Oshkosh
Almsgiving Fund- Our goal is to raise $15,000 to help those in need in our local community.
- Give during the second collection at Masses or online.
Weekly Works of Mercy- Choose a weekly Work of Mercy to help you encounter Jesus in the poor during Lent.
- Suggestions can be found on the bottom of the last page of our Lenten flyer.

Where is Jesus in the Mass?
This Lent Fr. Jerry will reveal six moments in the Mass that lead us to different ways to see Jesus.
Come to Mass and meet Jesus in ways you never knew possible before. -
Confession Times
- Sunday: 7:45 AM to 8:15 AM St. Peter site 11:30 AM to 11:50 AM St. Mary site
- Tuesday: 5:45 PM to 6:15 PM St. Mary site
- Friday: 8:15 AM to 9:00 AM St. Peter site
- Saturday: 8:15 AM to 9:00 AM St. Peter site 2:45 PM to 3:30 PM St. Peter site
At the St. Peter site, the confessional is located in the side chapel. At the St. Mary site, the confessional is located next to the elevator on the upper level.

Jesus is the Word of God, and the Scriptures present His Words This Lent, learn how to speak with Jesus in His own words through guided prayer sessions.

Thursdays • 6-7pm • Parish OfficeOpen to anybody and the setting is casual. We are currently doing Lectio Divina with the upcoming Sunday Gospel in order to come to a better understanding of how to hear God's voice and see more clearly how He wants to be involved in the day-to-day happenings of our lives. Stations of the Cross: Pilgrimage with Jesus
Fridays • 3pm • St Mary Church
Every Lent we come together to prayerfully walk with Jesus on the journey to the Cross. Anyone can join this mini "pilgrimage" whether you're Catholic, Christian, or just curious!Encounter
