Lent: A Journey of Love to the Cross
Jesus’ desire for you this Lent is that you would give Him your heart and come to know Him more deeply. The readings at Mass on Ash Wednesday give us some guidance on how to stay focused when they introduce us to the three pillars of Lent: prayer, fasting and almsgiving.
In deciding what to do this Lent, you may want to begin by asking God, “What needs to change in my life so that I may become closer to you? What will bring me into deeper relationship with Jesus?” Take this question to prayer and listen to how God is responding.

Prayer
The Bishops of the United States have launched a national Eucharistic Revival. MBS parish is embracing the Lenten challenge to renew our worship of and relationship with Jesus Christ in the Eucharist.
What will draw you closer to Jesus’ Real Presence in the Eucharist this Lent?Lenten Prayer Suggestions
- Join us for Encounter on February 28 & March 28
- Visit the Adoration Chapel & spend some time with Jesus
- Pray with the Sunday readings before Mass each week
- Receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation before Mass each week.
- Join a small group or Bible study to help deepen your prayer at Mass
- Attend the Eucharistic healing service on March 21 with Bishop Ricken.

Fasting
Fasting helps us be more like Jesus, sets us free from unhealthy attachments, sharpens our prayer, and teaches us to rely on God. The MBS fasting inventory was created to help you find areas in your life where you might need to experience greater interior freedom.

We created the Lenten Fasting inventory to help you find those areas in your life where you might need to experience greater interior freedom. Please fast in a healthy way!
EG: If you have a blood sugar issue, do not fast in a way that will cause unhealthy bodily reactions. Just choose your next highest score instead.

Almsgiving
Consider helping our parish outreach ministry raise $10,000 this Lent to help meet the needs of Oshkosh’s poorest - with a special focus on pro-life causes. At our Annual Meeting, we will share all the wonderful things that the parish has accomplished through your generosity.

The city-wide chapel in temporarily housed in the lower level of St. Mary Church. A tabernacle is also visible to the St. Peter parking lot 24/7 for prayer outside the building.. -

- Sunday: 7:45 AM to 8:15 AM St. Peter site 11:30 AM to 11:50 AM St. Mary site
- Tuesday: 5:45 PM to 6:15 PM St. Mary site
- Friday: 8:15 AM to 9:00 AM St. Peter site
- Saturday: 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM St. Peter site 2:45 PM to 3:30 PM St. Peter site
At the St. Peter site, the confessional is located in the side chapel. At the St. Mary site, the confessional is located at next to the elevator on the upper level. -

Drop In Bible Study
Thursdays • 6-7:30pm • Parish OfficeOpen to anybody and the setting is casual. We are currently doing Lectio Divina in order to come to a better understanding of how to hear God's voice and see more clearly how He wants to be involved in the day-to-day happenings of our lives. Learn more.
Stations of the Cross
Fridays • 3PM & 5:30PM • St. Mary
Pray with Fr. Jerry through the events of the Jesus’ suffering and crucifixion each week at the St. Mary Site. Note: There will be no Stations at 5:30PM on March 3 or April 7.
Encounter
Tuesdays, February 28 & March 28 • 6-8PM • St. MaryJoin us at the St. Mary site for a life changing encounter with Jesus to be healed & transformed! Learn more.
