The Parish Council met on February 17 to share the 2022 goals for each of our main strategic focus areas: Evangelization & Discipleship, Liturgy, Pastoral Outreach, and Parish Operations.
Evangelization & Discipleship
Goal #1: Hire a new Director now that Shannon has moved to part time and is focusing exclusivley on Children and Families.
Goal #2: Continue to grow Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and launch Level 2 Atrium
We started Level 1 last year and had 10 children attending. This year we have 20 children attending CGS. Next year, we project there will be around 15 children in Level 1 and 25 children in Level 2 (which will include all elementary school children).
Shannon has been trained in Level 1 (90 hours of training) and Level 2 (96 hours of training). We also have 1 catechist who is currently being trained in Level 1 and will complete her training this Summer.
Pastoral Outreach
The area of pastoral outreach has many goals for the coming year. Hiring the new Relationship Coordinator (Deb Lawent) will help split some of these goals off into a new focus area : Hospitality.
Goal #1: Focus on helping people encounter Jesus in the Eucharist through Eucharistic events like holy hours, processions, etc.
Goal #2: Re-launch full liturgical ministries
This will include reaching out to anyone who was a liturgical minister before COVID and personally inviting them to discern if they would like to still be invovled as well as providing ongoing and refreshing formation opportunities for liturgical ministers.
Goal #3: Provide liturgical, prayer, and Eucharistic spirituality formation opportunities for all parishioners.
This goal will likely align with the Eucharistic Revival that is coming to the Catholic Church in the United States - and in our Diocese - in the coming year.
