Recently the students of WIT/WIN Academy held a brainstorming session to choose a name for the pantry in our Mission Center. The final decision was "St. Peter's Caring Closet."
Each month the students have the opportunity to visit the pantry and select and item they may need or want. This could be anything from underwear to t-shirts to cleaning or laundry supplies. Good behavior also allows them to choose a treat or reward item.
As our inventory continues to grow, students will be asked to help us stack and stock shelves and keep the pantry neat and clean, giving them ownership and accountability.
If you are interested in learning more about how you can donate items and/or volunteer your time in the pantry, contact Laurie at the parish office at 920-231-9782 or [email protected].
Whatever It Takes (WIT) serving students in grades K-8 and Whatever Is Necessary (WIN) serving students in 9-12 are programs of the Oshkosh Area School District.
The WIT/WIN programs serve students whose behaviors have not been manageable in even the most restrictive school settings. WIT/WIN staff members work closely with Winnebago County to provide wrap-around services for students who are enrolled in the programs.
